It’s smart that respawn did this because they made anime skins without directly ripping them off 1 for 1. If respawn was a Japanese company then it would be 100x easier as I’ve seen many small Japanese games get loads of collaborations with shows such as danmachi, evangelion, the seven deadly sins, & many others.Īmerican games almost always have lots of trouble getting licenses to use Japanese intellectual property since each both countries’ legal systems work much differently than the other so they’d have too much trouble trying to get them into the game. Not to mention, respawn is an American company while shonen is a Japanese industry. Respawn would have to have loads of meetings and discussions to even attempt to have the skins in the game. You would need to pay A LOT to even use the intellectual property of shonen jump. Easy to say, extraordinarily hard to pull off.
